Biodynamic craniosacral therapy is based on the foundations of osteopathy and is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that helps your body achieve balance and optimum health by working with your nervous system and your body’s inherent ability to heal itself.
I view the body as a very intelligent piece of hardware! Your body is structured around how you have experienced life. For example, your posture is the exact by-product of how you use it day to day. The posture of a person who sits at a desk and works all day is very different to the posture of a person who stands and moves for the majority of their day. So this same concept applies to you at a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level.
Biodynamic craniosacral therapy is about reminding the body of the resources that it has always had and gives the body a little prod to dissipate the traumas, injuries, illnesses and experiences if it’s no longer in the person’s best interests to keep it there.
Whilst it is called “craniosacral” therapy, the work is not restricted to the head or the spine – it’s an overall holistic therapy for the entire body. I can work directly with your organs, muscles, ligaments, membranes, fluids and all aspects of your body from your feet all the way up to your head.
What can biodynamic craniosacral therapy help me with?
Biodynamic craniosacral therapy is useful for almost everything. I’ve found that it has been particularly useful for the following
- head trauma/concussion;
- headaches/migraines;
- behavioural issues;
- posture alignment;
- back and neck pain;
- joint pain;
- jaw issues;
- chronic pain and fatigue/fibromyalgia;
- anxiety and depression;
- elevating energy levels; and
- dealing with stresses and traumas.
What can I expect from a session?
The majority of the time, my clients leave a session feeling calm, more energised and with improved mental clarity.
It is important to highlight that the nature of this work can be extremely subtle and take time to eventuate. It is common for the effects of this work to be fully realised only a few weeks or months after the treatment. So essentially, it’s important to understand that you may not experience instantaneous results, although in my experience this has happened too!
Can it be done remotely or by distance?
Yes! In fact, it is incredibly effective when done over the phone or over Zoom. You can of course still get it done in a face to face session if that is what you are comfortable with.
