Energy Healing and Creativity: Why Your Urge to Create Isn’t Random

I love the Foo Fighters.

I know that might sound unusual coming from someone who offers spiritual and energy healing — but before I ever began this path, I was (and still am) a huge fan of rock music. My teenage years were filled with The Living End, and you’ll still find me at their gigs in Sydney (just on the edge of the mosh pit — I’m not that brave!).

There’s something about music that lights me up. It’s like it speaks directly to my inner child. And honestly, that’s energy healing in its own way.

The other day I watched an interview with Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters. He was reflecting on a video he made during lockdown — a light-hearted “drum-off” with a young girl online. He said he hadn’t realised how much joy that video brought people, and how that joy gave him a reason to keep releasing music, even though the band couldn’t tour.

It reminded me just how connected energy healing and creativity really are.

Back in April 2020, during the early lockdowns, I was feeling that familiar heaviness. I stumbled on Bob Sinclair doing daily live DJ sets — each day a different theme. And just like that, I felt lighter. More human. Music has that kind of power. It moves energy, lifts spirits, and brings us back to ourselves.

A similar message came through in a healing session I did with a client in January. She had been sitting on a creative idea for a while, but kept brushing it off with thoughts like “Who would want this?” or “What’s the point?” The insight that came through was simple, but powerful:

“If your soul is nudging you to create, there’s a reason.
You may not see the full picture now, but your creation could be the answer to someone else’s prayer. It’s not random — it’s energy moving through you. Trust it.”

So many people I work with tell me they feel called to create something — but they talk themselves out of it because it doesn’t feel logical, or because it’s not “perfect.”

But here’s the thing: creativity is a form of energy healing. Whether you’re writing a post, painting a canvas, recording a podcast, or making a playlist — you’re moving energy. You’re shifting something in yourself, and maybe even in someone else.

You don’t need a perfect plan. You just need to trust the impulse.

That’s how I approach my own creative work — whether it’s a blog post like this or a spontaneous video on spiritual discernment. I’ve learned to follow the energy and speak when something wants to come through. And without fail, I always get a message from someone saying, “This is exactly what I needed to hear.”

So if you’ve been feeling the nudge to create something — anything — this is your permission to follow it. Your soul knows. And that impulse may not be for you alone. It might be the energetic thread someone else is waiting to catch.

P.S. If you also happen to love rock music and you haven’t listened to the Foo Fighters’ Medicine at Midnight album yet — I highly recommend it. I’ve been playing it on repeat. Even my baby (still in the womb at the time) got to enjoy it!
