How Emotional Healing Through Organ Therapy Can Transform Your Health
How Emotional Healing Through Organ Therapy Can Transform Your Health
When we think about physical healing, we often focus on the more obvious parts of the body—muscles, ligaments, and bones. Chiropractors, osteopaths, massage therapists, and physiotherapists are our go-tos when something hurts or feels “off.” But how often do we think about the health of our organs unless something is seriously wrong?
Holistic modalities like kinesiology and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) consider organ health as an integral part of our well-being. But what many don’t realise is that through gentle, hands-on therapies like biodynamic craniosacral therapy, it’s possible to physically sense and work with the organs to release stored emotional and physical restrictions.
Understanding Organ Therapy from a Physical Perspective
In a recent craniosacral therapy training, I learned that organs—like any other tissue—can hold restrictions. These can be structural, such as tension in the fascia or ligaments, or emotional, like unresolved stress. Because everything in the body is interconnected, restrictions in or around one organ can affect seemingly unrelated parts of the body.
Take the large intestine, for example. Anatomically, it’s connected to the liver and spleen via ligaments. Behind it lies the psoas muscle—often implicated in back and pelvic pain—and its nervous system connections link directly to the vagus nerve and sacral nerves.
When tension or congestion affects the large intestine, it might show up as difficulty eliminating, discomfort in the liver area, or even back and hip pain. Releasing these restrictions can lead to improvements in not just digestive health but also structural balance and mobility.
The Emotional Side of Organ Therapy
Beyond the physical, each organ holds emotional and energetic imprints. The large intestine, for instance, is deeply tied to themes of letting go—emotionally and physically. If you tend to hold on (to relationships, ideas, pain, or even physical waste), this area might be energetically restricted. Releasing stored emotional tension here can lead to real shifts—both internally and externally.
In my own sessions, I’ve seen how working with organs can release buried emotions, past life imprints, and even inner child wounds. One client experienced profound physical and emotional release after a session targeting the large intestine. Sometimes, when you work with the organs, everything literally comes out—physically and energetically.
Try Emotional Healing Through Organ Therapy
If you’re experiencing chronic tension, emotional heaviness, or even stubborn physical symptoms that don’t resolve with conventional treatments, consider adding organ work into your healing journey. Biodynamic craniosacral therapy, with its subtle and non-invasive approach, is a beautiful way to begin.
Next time you come in for a session, ask about working with the organs. You might be surprised at what your body—and your emotional landscape—reveal.
