Why Releasing Emotional Energy Is Vital for Your Health
Have you ever felt like a bottle ready to explode—filled with emotion but unsure how to release it? Many of us bottle up our feelings until we can no longer contain them, leading to emotional outbursts, fatigue, or even physical symptoms.
In today’s world, especially in corporate environments, we’re often taught to suppress emotions. Phrases like “leave emotion out of it” or “stay professional” reinforce the idea that emotions are a weakness. This leads to emotional disconnection and, ultimately, disconnection from our own bodies.
From an energy healing perspective, emotions are seen as energy in motion—quite literally, emotional energy. Everything is energy, even the parts of our physical world that seem solid. Our bodies are no different. Beneath the surface, there’s constant movement: cells vibrating, blood flowing, atoms interacting.
When we suppress emotions, we’re actually suppressing emotional energy. And holding that energy down takes a surprising amount of effort. It’s like shaking a bottle of soda and keeping the lid sealed. The pressure builds. But if you open the lid—even slowly—the energy releases, and everything settles.
I’ve experienced this firsthand. I used to think I had great emotional control. But I later realised I was exhausted, constantly drained from keeping everything inside. When I finally allowed my emotions to rise—whether through breathwork, energy healing, or simply letting myself feel—it changed everything. My energy returned. My body felt lighter. I could breathe more freely.
So I encourage you to express your emotions—safely, of course. Whether it’s journaling, crying, moving your body, or locking yourself in the bathroom for a release session, it all helps. Don’t ignore what’s building inside. Emotional energy release is not just good for your mind—it’s vital for your body and soul.
Let the energy move. Let it go. Your body will thank you.
